One of the most interesting features of this refuge is the Wapack Trail, which passes through this refuge. The trail offers a panoramic view of the surroundings and three miles of this 21 mile trail passes inside the refuge.
The Wapack National Wildlife Refuge is administered by the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. It is very easily accessible from Miller State Park. The refuge can be reached from the north through the Old Mountain Road.
