Having a journey can be a very tiring and tedious job. There are some journeys which make you tired just thinking of them. So how do you handle a long flight or a journey which would require you to sit in the same position for a long time, sometimes even for twenty four hours at a time continuously? There are some tips and tricks you can follow to have a better experience.
The first thing you have to consider while setting out for a journey is to consider the medical side of it. Analyze yourself. Do you have nausea or fainting sensation when you go for a long journey? Do you throw up if you get on to bumpy roads? Does you ear hurt when the flight takes off? These are the common ailments people go through while travelling.
Taking the first ailment, when you get nauseous or start to throw up, just smell a lemon, or bite one. This is an age old remedy used to prevent nauseous feelings. So you would have to carry a lemon in your hand bag, or in some place where it is easily reachable. For ears being shut or closed, you can try chewing gums. Chewing gums are effective in opening your ears and keeping them like that.
If you feel body pains, just carry a pain killer with you. Try to sit in a comfortable position; be as comfortable as you can. For boredom, another common ‘ailment’, books can help a lot. Music players are another option; else try video games which can keep you hooked on to them for a long time. Or if you are having long journeys try to sleep.
Long journeys can be quite tedious and tiring, which is why people dread taking them. With a few things to keep you occupied, you can decrease the boredom to a small extend.
