Places to visit while traveling in San Diego, California

Whether you are spending a weekend on business or a week-long vacation with your family in San Diego, California, you can do more than lay on the beach for the entire period of your trip. Here are some beautiful places you can visit during your time in San Diego.

Before you leave to go to the San Diego Zoo, make sure you have your best walking shoes on. The San Diego Zoo is over 100 acres long with over 4,000 animals. There are 800 different species. Whether you are with your children or just your partner, the zoo offers something for the whole family. You can take a 35 minute bus ride throughout the zoo. This will give you the ability to determine the areas you want to spend your time in.

The San Diego Zoo is not the only place where you can have fun in the sun interacting with the animal. Visit Sea World San Diego. It is only one of three locations in the world where you can experience marine animals interact, water park fun, and more. The Sea World San Diego is a theme park that focuses the ocean and its animals. You get to see Shaum, the dolphins, and her buddies perform daily.

While downtown, take browse along the Gaslamp Quarter. There are 16 1/2 blocks of boutiques, art galleries, specialty shops, and restaurants. It was established in 1867, but it has been renovated and restored several times to keep the unique architectural preserved.

Take a further look back into San Diego’s history, by visiting Old Town. Visitors are able to walk through historical buildings in the town. The buildings you are able to see include the blacksmith shop, Seeley Stables, Stewart House, Estudillo House and the oldest schoolhouse in the area.
