Mohawk Trail of The Great Indians

Greenfield includes the scenic Mohawk Trail which is a historic trail that was used previously by Red Indians to pass through the valley. It stretches for more than 63 miles from the borders of New York to the Millers Falls. It is one of the best places to drive on during the day and during the night. The trail passed through miles and miles of farmlands, maple sugar houses and apple orchards. The foil display during the months of autumn and spring brings sores of tourists and movie directors to this beautiful place. It is also a popular tourist trekking destination and is crowded in the fall.

The Mohawk trail begins from the Franklin County at the pioneer Valleys northern section. The traffic here is unbelievable throughout the year with bumper to bumper traffic. This traffic is going to nothing to spoil the incredible beauty that this place has to offer. There are a few places which are free of traffic which lies to the east of the river which lies near the Quabbin Reservoir. There is a power generation plant in the Quabbin Reservoir which offer tourist visits. The plant is a hydro electric plant which has a unique way of storing power. In the seasons when the river is at full flow, the water is pumped to a high mountain reservoir. During the summer season the stored water is used to generate power. It is a unique power generation plant. Other places you can see here are the logging and ice harvesting factories which are a nostalgic view of American past. This area has various programs that sponsor nature, astronomy and wildlife. Even in the night this place is a sight to behold with the sky lit with millions and million of diamonds that make the whole area seem like is covered under a blanket of stars. The definition of pitch black can be seen in these locations.
