Greenfield town offers ample opportunities for exploring wildlife and natural vegetation, due to the fact that it is surrounded by extensive mountain ranges, parks, camping grounds, trails and more.
One of the most interesting places of natural beauty here is the Greenfield State Park, which is a great place for enjoying outdoor activities such as picnicking, swimming, hiking, fishing and camping. The park is located on off Route 136, Forest Road. It covers 401 acres of land and has a total of 257 campsites, five of which have been designated as youth campsites. Those seeking a place where they can enjoy the rustic outdoors will find this park the perfect place to do so.
This state park comes with some of the best civic amenities and facilities that are available. It includes facilities such as bathhouse, picnic tables, a boat launch, and paddle-boat rentals that campers can use. The campground of this park is open from the middle of May through mid October. This campground has a lake area called Otter Lake, where visitors can come to enjoy water activities. One interesting aspect about this park is that it provides the opportunity for activities such as canoeing, camping, walking, fishing, and swimming in different scenic settings. The walking paths in this area lead to a variety of coves inside the park where visitors can enjoy more incredible natural beauty and outdoor charm.
The admission charge for this park is $4 for adults and $2 for children. There is also a $24 charge for camping overnight that includes accommodations for two adults and children in a campsite. It is possible for pets to come into designated areas of the campground; however they must be on a leash at all times.
The town of Greenfield, as well as Greenfield State Park, is a great place to visit for outdoor activities, sightseeing, camping, or just for an afternoon getaway.
