Enjoy Exploring the Wapack Trail

One of the best ways to enjoy natural beauty and wildlife is by going camping. Wapack Trail is one of the most interesting trails that anyone can ever experience because it is long, meandering and takes the trailer through some of the most scenic spots in this part of New Hampshire. This trail is preferred because it is one of the oldest, interstate hiking trails in the United States. In addition to passing through Greenfield, the trail also passes through other towns such as Temple, New Ipswich, Peterborough, Sharon, Ashby and Ashburnham.

The Wapack Trail first opened in 1923 and it all began with cutting of the trail by farmers Albert, Frank Robbins and Marion Buck. The name of the trail has been interestingly formed from the names of Mountain Watatic and Pack from the North Pack. The best time to visit this trail is between mid-spring and mid-fall. It’s famous for camping activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and so on. Campers who are looking for a more natural camping experience will find this trail to be ideal. It takes them into some of the most interesting scenic locations, where you can get one with nature and enjoy living in the middle of exotic natural elements. It is a fairly easy trail, with some sections that are a bit difficult to negotiate. This trailer goes through the Miller State Park and through the Wapack National Wildlife refuge, which is one of the most interesting places to see and enjoy here.

Currently, Friends of the Wapack are supervising this trail. They are a non-profit organization that is responsible for maintaining the Wapack Trail. They regularly look into factors such as cleanliness and upgrading and also ensure that the trail is protected from development activities that can negatively affect it.
